Monkeehub was founded in 1979, coincidentally the same year that Laith Bahrani, the founder was found. He was actually found...curled up in a pencil case, sucking on a rubber.

Laith was drawing before he could walk, and the picture on the left is something the creatively inspired whippersnapper drew, aged 4. Granted it may not look like much, but it's not bad considering Laith didn't learn to keep solids down until he was 13.

Laith is left handed and this affliction, coupled with his third ear* created a difficult childhood. He was teased and kids would ridicule him behind his back. Ironically, Laith could hear all that was said due to the enhanced hearing facilitated by his third ear. Laith escaped from the taunts into a world of drawing and
day-dreaming. (read: he hid in the cloak room, under coats)

Many years of drawing and therapy later, Laith has emerged as a Hercules-esque freelancer; ready to battle with the most ferocious creative projects through the Monkeehub brand.

Monkeehub is about making the most out of a projects creative potential. It's about looking at a project and asking how it can be different and special. It's about having fun with a project, and putting quality above all else (yes, sometimes even deadlines).

Monkeehub is also about letting the work speak for itself; in a environment where we're constantly being bombarded with messages to consume, purchase, buy, sell, lose weight, be beautiful, and fuck…sometimes its nice to just have the opportunity to take a breath, and observe – no strings.
(except the google ads – you have to click them)

Laith is the principle creative at Monkeehub, but there is a network of talented freelancers available to pull together if the project (and budget) allows.

If you think you may like to work with Monkeehub on a project, please get in touch.

*Laith does not really have a third ear. Please do not email with suggestions for self-surgery removal and/or requests for an ear donor.
